Note that the following is only my own opinion based on what I've read and
heard from someone who tried Mint.

What compelling features are there with Mint?
Seems like I was drawn to it a year or so ago, but I could not get Orca
working well on it.
I mean, can you let folks know what is good or different about Mint?
Honestly, I don't see the "victory," but I have not personally tried it.
It's based on either Ubuntu or Debian testing, so in my opinion, one would
be better suited using one of those. It ships an older kernel than Ubuntu
and seems to have more hardware compatibility problems. That might be why
Orca didn't work for you. The user I mentioned has an older HP with an AMD
processor. He tried several different versions of Mint, but none of them
would install. They all crashed as did Ubuntu MATE 14.04, but Ubuntu MATE
15.04 worked fine, presumably due to the newer kernel. Ubuntu 14.04 ships
kernel 3.13 while 15.04 ships 3.16 if that matters. I don't know what Mint
ships, but I would think it's probably 3.13 or earlier. The Mint issues I
mentioned were with versions 16 and 17.
