Re: [orca-list] braille display support?

Also, brltty must be started before orca -- its a separate process and
you must have /etc/brltty.conf which corresponds to your display.

hi all
I've got a person on the sonar irc channel asking for help with
getting orca to work with their refreshable braille display. I'm not
at all familiar with how braille support under orca works, but I
believe all you need to do is plug in the display, and orca should
pick it up and start printing text to it. However, this person says
all that shows up on the display is "screen not in text mode" I've
verified that brltty is started and running, but doesn't orca start
it's own instance of brltty when it detects a braille display? I need
some help. How exactly does orca's braille support work? Is it plug
and play, or are there steps you have to take before they will work?
Thanks
Kendell clark
