Did you upgrade to version 7?

In the key mapping interface it seems possible to map left-arrow, up and
down arrows, but not right.
Fortunately, it also seems possible to map Ctrl+Alt+F1 through ...F10
In any case, as I upgraded today and now have complimentary support, I
called and was issued a support ticket as per the following. We'll see
what they say.
You filed the following Support Request:
Customer Email: janina rednote net
Contact: Janina Sajka
Entitlement: Complimentary Support
Region: NASA-CST
Commit Time: 2014-10-02 15:00 CDT
Severity of Support Request: 3 - Medium
Description of Support Request: Unable to map "Alt + Right Arrow" on the
Fedora virtual machine.
To accomplish switching between consoles on virtual machine.

But have you been able to get alt-right arrow to work or alt-left-arrow
in a Linux vm?

Pull up the VMware library and follow the menus to where you can define
your own key combo for this.
I've found it useful to run two separate vms, one for graphical Linux
with Orca, and another for cli with Speakup. In fact, I have a third vm
just for emacspeak. This reduces the complexity of custom key
combinations.
