Thanks to burt and jose. I think i'm going to hate ubuntu for now.. It 
was a VMware virtual machine install, anyway.
For arch and Manjaro, just use yaourt and  install orca-git. it will 
pull in the package and build it for you. i have done it and it works 
awesome.
