I have read most of the messages in this conversation and found none disrespectful. There have been a few
different takes
on the question at hand, and none have been presented in a "my way or the highway" manner, so if someone
crapped on you a
couple of years ago why are you bringing it up here/now? Are you saying that we are more receptive, better or
more
respectful listeners, or do you think we are involved in virtual deffication?
My initial take is that why do you even bring something that happned on a mailing list two years ago up, but
I suppose it
can be useful to go meta from time to time to try and improve netiquit or quality of communication. It's also
useful for
us to give the occasional virtual pat on the back. On the other hand just recounting two year old feelings or
impressions
with out putting things in to context, especially when the feelings or impressions are negative probably at
best just
creates list clutter, and may actually propigate bad feelings.
In the short time I've been on this list I've not found folks to be intolerant, rude, or in any other way
offensive. I am
sure that from time to time some bad feelings get bounced around here as does happen on most such fora, but
I'd like to
thank you all for helping to keep this a respectful and useful space for the sharing of information and
ideas. I
And hey, crap is fertilizer so either directly or indirectly it can help just about any life form to
grow...smiles
