Re: [orca-list] Your comments on bug 735671 - Automatically start screen reader if the user is idle for a while (in gnome initial-setup)

We should define exactly how long "a while" is, but yeah. I like it. Wow, linux is starting to innovate really fast now.

Hey all.

Here's another issue for which your feedback would be helpful. This one
was filed against gnome-initial-setup. GNOME initial setup is an
upstream feature, and I know Fedora includes it. Not sure if other
distros do or not. Anyhoo, on to the bug:

   Bug 735671 - Automatically start screen reader if the user is idle
   for a while: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=735671

   <begin quoted opening report>
   This came up when discussion screen readers in #fedora-desktop. OS
   X starts the screen reader in its initial setup if you just stare
   at it for a while. We should do that too.

   Perhaps also start by asking the user if they need assistance and
   allowing them some easy ways to enable accessibility features
   permanently, and giving them a short explanation on how to use
   keyboard navigation to navigate the wizard.
   <end quoted opening report>

As with the bug about the possible change in shortcut, responses can be
here and/or on the bug itself.

Thanks guys!
