Re: [orca-list] Quick key for clickables?

Agreed, even thought I seldom use the slash in FX.
I am very much against conflicting with and or over riding a program's native keystrokes, especially a
program where these
cn't be changed.
This is my objection to someof the otherwise very powerful and for some very useful jaws scriptsm and a
couple of the NVDA
plug-ins as well.
Always leave a program to work as much as possible how it is designed to work, and access as much of the
information
presentedon-screen is the starting point for any screenreader, or should be unless there's no practical way
to interact
this way.

Hi Alex and all,

I do see a possible conflict here. The slash key brings up the
find/search box in Firefox. I happen to use that command all the time
to find something I'm looking for on the page and it would be annoying
if Orca intercepted that command looking for a clickable when I was
intending to do a search. So we probably should find another command
for clickables.

Cheers!

I like / for clickables. It's easy to hit without being too easy to hit
accidentally. This is what it's bound to in windows and I use it
extensively on stuff like online calendars where they just love clickables.
