Re: [orca-list] Twitter Clients

Your best bet might be to use ttytter; it runs in the commandline (gnome terminal or vc). You can make a kind of "virtual timeline", by setting the client to use no default timeline, then adding particular hashtags or users for the client to track; it will filter the public timeline, in that case. Another option would be to have a separate ttytter instance for each timeline you want to follow; you'd launch each one, specifying a different keyfile and configuration on the command line. You could even set a different notification scheme and soundpack for each, allowing you to know which instance got an update, as it happened. Ttytter's extension mechanism can make it scarily powerful! If you're a perl wizard, the sky's the limit. if ttytter is not in your distro's repos, it's easy enough to drop in where you want it. Additionally, I recommend getting Term::readline::ttytter; it's a package on cpan. Both ttytter and term::readline::ttytter are in the Arch repos.
