Re: [orca-list] evince 3.9.90 and ubuntu 13.10 (saucy)

Can I have Evince accessible on Ubuntu 12.04?
Which version should I compile?
happy hacking.

Well, it is definitely a Ubuntu bug. I killed apparmor with /etc/init.d/apparmor stop and apparmor teardown,
and all is working. This brings me to my next question. Can we navigate with arrow-keys in pdf's as of yet?
This would be handy for selecting text. I am definitely impressed with where we're at now. Orca read a pdf
for me, and I was able to even review it with the keys on the num-pad. Thanks to Joanie and all for all the
hard work, and definitely to the givers of the grant. I appreciate everyone who works on accessibility in
Linux.

Hi all, I wanted to try out the new pdf accessibility in Ubuntu, but
I don't think Evince is able to communicate with at-spi/orca at all.
Whenever I launch evince with or without a document, I get no speech
access to any of the window elements. I tried launching it in
terminal, just to see if there were any errors, and I get a warning
that there is an apparmor policy that prevents evince from
registering with the accessibility bus. Is this something easy to
fix?
I would suggest performing a Web search to find out how to turn off apparmor
in Ubuntu. If it works with Apparmor disabled, then it's the cause and you can
report it as an Ubuntu bug.
