Re: [orca-list] Sonar 13.10

I would say that hardware support is probably equal in both Manjaro and
Ubuntu. However, as Manjaro is based on Arch, it will generally have
newer versions of driver packages. The real difference though is driver
and kernel management. Manjaro has a really nice script called mhwd that
allows very easy management of multiple hardware drivers and kernels on
a single system. If some of your hardware doesn't work correctly using a
3.11 kernel, but your favorite application likes 3.11 better than 3.10,
you can very easily use mhwd to install all the kernels you will need,
and then you can choose the right one at boot time. This is similar to
the way Ubuntu does things, except Manjaro puts kernel management
together with hardware management using mhwd, rather than putting kernel
management and package management together. Basically, it's just a
different way of doing things, but it works <smile>.
