Re: [orca-list] Orca text-to-speech in a new language?

The espeak synthesizer can be made to pronounce your language better. It all depends on how many volunteers or how much budget you have.

Depending on your timeframe, we can join forces, as I am looking for support for a international project to make espeak pronounce a variety of languages which currently do not have a FOSS synthesizer nor even a proprietary synthesizer for them.

Best regards,

Fernando

The speech/loud-reading, however, is entirely based on the English

Which means it's pretty useless.

I assume you are using the Danish synthesizer and not the English one?
If so, then that suggests that espeak's Danish voice needs some help.
Regardless, Orca talks to speech-dispatcher and speech-dispatcher talks
to the synthesizer. So if you can find a sythesizer you like that works
with speech-dispatcher, then you should be set.

Hope this helps.
