Admittedly, it can be an annoyance. I thnk that there is some unwritten
"Coder's Code" as to why the states "selected" and "checked" are used
for these two different kinds of buttons, but it does feel inconsistent
to me. Someone out there may have a different case scenario, but I think
that "selected" and "not selected" would be fine across check boxes and
radio buttons.
