[orca-list] noticing serious lags when using firefox

Hi folks, just recently, maybe just today, noticing that speech, and
maybe the entire system, boggs way down in firefox. Also, when in the
gmail web site, I can't arrow up any more to see how many messages are
in a thread. This is with the mobile gmail web site.
Any thoughts, or anyone noticing similar behaviors?
I'm using ubuntu 13.4
