Hi, Peter.
With both Fedoras 17 and 18, I've lost the Orca modifier from time to time.
Indeed, with 18 it's pretty sure I'll lose it at least once a day. Or,
maybe it won't be the modifier, but the keystroke I use to change
punctuation levels, Orca plus p.
Since Bill Acker helped me get Speakup running, I almost always have one or
two terminals using it. When Orca screws up, I switch to one of these and
type
Pkill orca
Orca kindly says goodbye. I then return to the gui, hit alt-plus-f2, type
Orca
And hit enter. Orca returns, and I'm usually left where I was when I
discovered the screw-up. The key works fine after that.
Hope this helps.
Al

This is going to be embarrassing but I've lost my orca modifier key somehow.
No matter which layout I select nor which orca modifier I select separately
<orca space> doesn't bring up a preferences page and <orca semicolon> in the
document inserts semicolon. the only thing unusual about my current setup
(fedora 18) is that X isn't coming up at boot time so I'm logging in on a
virtual console then running startx.
This is Fedora 18 and orca 3.6.3 as distributed with the OS.
Any pointers?
thanks in advance
Peter
