Re: [orca-list] is it safe to update Gnome shell to 3.8 on Ubuntu 13.04

While I will try arch some day soon, I know that Ubuntu 13.04 can take Gnome 3.8.
I just wish to know what care should I take/

Ubuntu 13.04 does not have full 3.8.
If you want to test the features of 3.8, try a different distro that uses it. Here are my recommendations :
Arch Gnu/Linux(gnome is 3.8 by default)
Debian Gnu/Linux (unstable/upgrade Gnome to experimental)
Fedora Gnu/Linux (might still have 3.6?)
perhaps others as well...

Hello all,
My question is very much on topic, so I did not put an OT although it might have seemd to be so. I am going to install Ubuntu 13.04 on a pen drive (not creating a startup disk, but actually installing it ).
I will upgrade the Gnome shell to 3.8 for trying it's capabilities.
Are there any disadvantages in terms of accessibility?
Further more, I wished to ask if there is an accessible way of putting icons on the desktop in Gnome 3.6 or 3.8?
I prefer to have a few folders on the desktop for quick access.
Happy hacking.
