I think this is great, but I also hope it's somewhat configurable. I
know I don't miss not hearing anything when I press control+c, so I'm
not sure if I'm going to want to hear this by default or not.
Two similar features I do enjoy are:
* The Orca+r short cut key in Vinux that tells me what's currently in
the clip board. I find this useful when copying text from a web page in
Firefox where it's hard to know what text I'm copying.
* Using Parcer Light with control+alt+h to see what's currently in the
clip board as well as what I've pasted into the clip board recently.
It also looks like someone pruned the original message, but I seem to
recall something about long pastes, like more than 20 characters. What
Parcer Lite does is read the first handful of characters, like the first
dozen or so and then the last dozen. This might be a good compromise,
since in the case of copying from Firefox, I'd like to know where the
copy started and ended to make sure I got everything I wanted.

Well, from the perspective of the non-technical end-user it is best to
have an acknowledgement every time he/she presses CTRL C, even if this
is slightly less elegant from a developer's perspective since the actual
content might not have changed.
You are right about CTRL V, Orca already verbalizes that, so all is ok.
The problem is when there is total silence after a command is issued.

Hi Piñeiro,
I am familiar with the debate that took place on the list regarding
this issue. Yet, among non-technical users we have received ample
feedback, both from students, teachers, and other F123 users that this
is an important feature for them.
They all want some kind of acknowledgement of what takes place with
CTRL C and CTRL V etc.
Well that extension just send a notification when the clipboard content
changes, so in some way it notifies when the user press Ctrl+C, but:
If the user copies exactly the same text, nothing is notified: this is
because the extension doesn't check any key combination, it only tracks
the clipboard content. This has the advantage that if the user change
the clipboard with other way (ie: some applications allows Ctrl+Ins to
copy to the clipboard). So it doesn't matter how the clipboard content
changes, if it changed is notified. But, that also means that you don't
get a notification each time you press Ctrl+C. As I said, only if the
clipboard content changes. Is that a problem?
In the same way, it doesn't do anything with respect to paste (so
Ctrl+V). Anyway, at this moment Orca is already exposing the text
changes, so this shouldn't be a problem. Is that Ok?
So thank you for working on this and as soon as we have testing
feedback we will get in touch.
Ok, thanks.
