Re: [orca-list] ssh

Wait a moment here.  I think that if brltty is installed it might be as easy as running brltty+orca with the brltty TTY driver!  See http://mielke.cc/brltty/doc/drivers/brl-tt.txt

No, I'm afraid not. SSH will only work for console/terminal type stuff. I
don't even thing Remina and packages like it will work with Orca either.
Are you in the states? If so, you need to talk to your HR about making
reasonable accommodation for you under the Americans with Disabilities Act
and let you install a Linux distribution that is accessible on your own
designated terminal/workstation. Fedora has been suggested and it's a good
idea since it's very very closely tied to Redhat. Ubuntu and Debian are
also excellent choices. It won't kill them to work with you on this. I
mean, they let you use Windows through ssh or something along those lines.
You shouldn't have to use antiquated accessibility and be denied all the
recent improvements made in it just because they want to be stubborn and
force you to use Red Hat when there are very workable alternatives out
there. Incidentally, in case you didn't know, the project lead for Orca
does her developing on a Fedora installation.

Alex M.

Folks,

If you are using an accessible Orca setup, and you ssh -x into another
x-windows machine, will you be able to see the graphical output of the
remote machine?

I do this all the time for character-based Linux using just ssh.
