At this point, your best bet is to install 12.04. However, you can get Ubuntu 12.10 running using GNOME by installing gnome-session-fallback. I haven't played with 12.10 to know if it's still talking at login with control-s, but iff so, you can choose a regular GNOME session instead of the default Unity. This will give you all the accessibility of GNOME 3.6. Hope this helps.
