Hello, Harold.

The last time I imported my contacts from GMail into Thunderbird I did 
it using magification, and believe me it was a big pain! I do not know 
if you are having a similar issue, but when you import your contacts, 
you have to align fields in two separate columns (Last Name to Last 
name, First Name to First Name, etc). By default (or at least for me) 
these fields are not aligned properly. I had to manually align a lot of 
the different contact fields, and if I failed to do so information was 
not placed where it should have been, thus resulting in a huge mess.

If you can make any sense of what I said (as I could not think of a 
better way to explain it...I apologize), this could be what is causing 
your problem as Thunderbird should check every address book when 
performing an autocomplete on an entry when composing an e-mail.
