Hi Krishnakant,

That is probably true, but I am not ready to give up on them. Also, there is always a chance that now they will take accessibility more seriously. Organizations do occasionally evolve into better and more effective institutions.

Happy hacking,

Fernando

Hi Fernando
Mozilla takes ages to fix things.
History is witness to how long some bugs took to be fixed in firefox.

Thanks Joanie.

Anything Krishnakant and I can do to give this bug a higher priority
for the Thunderbird team?

For example, would us adding our comments to the bug increase its
priority in their internal development checklist?

Thanks,

Fernando

Krishnakant,

I can confirm that even while using Orca 2.91.1, the latest Thunderbird
will speak words when you type in the subject line but not on
message body.

If memory serves me, the subject line is emitting the correct/expected
text events; the message body, on the other hand, is appending the
'system' suffix incorrectly to them. So we think something other than
typing caused the event and don't echo the word.

Take care.
