Re: [orca-list] Thunderbird has improved but I have one doubt

Hello,
Firstly, If I am thinking of using Imap, then can I prevent this by switching to thunderbird's offline
feature?
I think there is some way I can store offline imap folders by saving them to local hdd.
Secondly, if I turn off the preview feature, will I be able to read the email using f6 key?
happy hacking.

If you're using IMAP, you may also get some delays as you arrow up and
down the folder list as Thunderbird goes out and synchronizes those folders.

I think you're onto something! Emails with complicated structure and/or
pictures should take a bit longer to render than would plain text. If
you turn off the message preview, you shouldn't se this behavior, unless
the trouble is something else?

Hello, Krishnakant.

I may not have the right answer for you, but I notice (even while
using screen magnification) Thunderbird sometimes takes a short bit of
time to load e-mails which contain HTML which may include images and
tables (such as newsletters) as compared to plain text e-mails (such
as those from mailing lists). I do not know if this is the definite
answer to your question, but I just figured I would share my
experience with you.

Take care, and best wishes.

Hello all,
I wish to ask this question to all the thunderbird users.
Today I again set up imap for google on thunderbird.
I am kind of happy that some thing are better now that I have reduced
the size of my inbox.
I find that when I use up and down arrow for selecting an email, I
can just press f6 key to read it.
But very often, Orca starts responding slowly when I navigate through
the list of emailsm while some times it is very smappy.
Why would this be?

Happy hacking.
