Thanks for the suggestion of turpial. Unfortunately, it doesn't suit me. When I've used a flat review key, for instance, to right-click on a user's name for the menu, my orca key becomes disabled, and can be fixed, only by killing turpial and running 'orca --replace' in the 'run' box. Also, when I try to open a link, found within the selected tweet, the browser never opens.

I've recently started experimenting with Pidgin and Smuxi. Both are actually chat clients but they have plugins that let you use them for twitter. Both are also quite accessible. So far, I've gotten as far as basic tweeting and reading my time line. Stuff like retweting and replying to tweets, direct messaging and the like are yet to be tried.
