I suppose this really belongs on Ubuntu Accessibility, but, here goes:

Due to frequent Unity crashes, and unreliable access to the 
gnome-classic panels, This Ubuntu 12.04 user is happily using 
Gnome-shell 3.4, full-time.  Using Trisquel gives reliable, though 
dated, accessibility.
