Well it appears to be working!
Now running Orca from git master.
I did have one problem, orca.debug couldn't import pyatspi. I had to
copy the pyatspi folder from /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages to
../python3/dist-packages but it is now working.

Seems that the winner is python3-gi. Orca master now checks for that first.
