Re: [orca-list] pulse audio updates in ubuntu 11.10?

I've installed these PulseAudio updates in my Ubuntu 11.10 virtual
machine, and they didn't seem to negatively impact Orca at all yet. I
haven't gotten around to getting Speakup working in this virtual machine
yet.

I installed ubuntu 11.10 on another partition on my hard drive tot try
it out. After I got it installed, it searched for updates. I went down
the list and unchecked everything to do with pulseaudio. I think there
were around 5 or 6 items to do with libraries, and another thing that
I cannot remember. So should I just never upgrade these? Is there ever
a time when an update comes out and the community decides that it is
okay to download? Just ot clarify, but I have avoided installing them.

The other pulseaudio question since Iá writing this already, has to do
with the fact that speakup and orca cannot seem to run at the same
time. It seems that if I log in to the desktop quickly before speakup
is done reading the start-up prompts, then speakup will be the one
that is working. If I wait for speakup to finish speaking, orca is the
one that will run. I am pretty sure that this has to do with setting
pulseaudio to run system wide. Could someone refer me to a tutorial to
do this on ubuntu 11.10?
