It's true that 11.04 had Unity for it's default desktop, but I believe
the accessibility profile still defaulted to Gnome 2. vinux 3.2, which
is based on Ubuntu 11.04 also had Gnome 2 for it's desktop.
I think much of the accessibility notes for Ubuntu 11.10, Oneric, still
apply to Ubuntu 12.04, Precise. You can find these accessibility notes
for Oneric, which came out when Oneric was released at:
http://ubuntuaccessibility.wordpress.com/2011/10/13/oneiric-ocelot/
Two sources for Unity shortcust, one which is mentioned on the page
above, are:

Another resource on Unity, Ubuntu and accessibility is the Ubuntu
accessibility list:

Hello, Krishnakant.
I am not sure which version of Ubuntu (?) you are currently using, but
as of Ubuntu 11.04 (if I remember correctly) Unity is the default
desktop environment. Unity consists of two panels, one on the top and
one on the left-hand side of the screen.
The top panel is where you will find the menu bar (File, Edit, View,
etc) for any currently active window which supports the global menu.
This panel also includes applets for wireless, mail, and other settings.
the left-hand panel contains numerous icons for your favorite
applications (Firefox, LibreOffice Writer, LibreOffice Calc, etc).
Here are some basic shortcuts to get you started:
F10 - Access the top panel. You can navigate items by using the Tab key;
the SPACEBAR will activate any item available on this panel. Press F10
again to move focus out of the top panel.
Super/Windows Key - This will open the launcher which will have icons
for different applications which are categorized. By default the focus
is placed within a search box in which you can type to search for
applications. You can press the down arrow to get out of it, and use the
arrow keys to move through the different icons which are positioned in a
tiled layout.
Super/Windows+1, 2... - Launch application [number] on the left-hand
panel where favorites are located. For instance, if Firefox is the first
application, Super+1 would launch Firefox. If Gedit was set at the fifth
application, Super+5 would launch Gedit.
CTRL+ALT+T - Open a terminal as normal.
These are just a few. Here is a link [1] to an Ask Ubuntu page which
lists many more.
I hope that this will be of some help to you.
Take care.

Hello all,
Hearing all the great things about up coming ubuntu 12.04, I got
inspired to set it up on a netbook myself.
I have a few basic questions.
1, Can some one quickly list the keyboard shortcuts for accessing the
applications menu, top panel and the desktop? I need to get to the
icons for configuring broadband network etc.
2, What difference will I find in basic navigation?
3, is there any detailed documentation on getting started with
accessibility?
Happy hacking.
