With the latest commits to orca in master, messages read good now in
Thunderbird; I uhave messages open in a separate window. Don't
remember if they work in new tab or not. My big complaint with
Thunderbird now is the message list. Start deleting a couple messages
and everything in the list gets out of wack. If not careful, you will
end up deleting the wrong message. this part is still a mess and so
bad that I cannot use Thunderbird to do any real work with mail. this
used to be a really good mail client but something is really amiss
here. This problem with the message lists has been around for some
time and I believe bugs have been filed against Mozilla but still no
fix in site!

The first thing is confirm that your problem is related to that bug.
Can you run orca in debug mode and open a message to reproduce the problem?
I'd like to know if you will get the same trace back reported in the bug.
Thanks.

Hi.
Maybe I am wrong but I think that it was fixed in orca master.
I am not sure if the fix is present in orca-xdesktop.
Take a look at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=668472

Hello,
I have recently switched to thunderbird 10. I was using thunderbird 3.16
for a very long time and I was satisfied, but I wanted to try the latest
thunderbird version.
I ws surprised, that almost everything is working fine.
But there are two problems:
1. Whever I open a new message, I can't read it with orca. I have to use
tab to skip to soe link to be able to read it properly. Or when I skip
to the next message, all is working fine.
2. there is no echo. I have set read by words and orca isn't reading
anything.
