Sure. Get the non gui version and run it in the terminal. Stay away from GVim the graphical user interface version. The text entry field there is not accessible. Storm Dragon had some online classes on Vim for all the Vinux people. Rill made the transcripts available. I don't know what url to post here for them but some digging around in the vinux-project.org site ought to yield some fruit.
