Your problems with Orca might be updates. Whichever build or version of
Linux you're using doesn't matter as much as the platform and recent
updates. Check out the details of the Vinux sites;

Some of the major problems with Orca stem from updates. Either try
re-installing off-line or ignore the prompts to update until you get
into automatic updates and disable them. If you're using an Ubuntu
distro, keep tabs on the Vinux news and see which updates they've tried
and recommend. If you'd like to try Vinux, go for it. It's based on
Ubuntu and it's standard packages are selected for accessibility. You
can of course add other programs that you like and have used.
