I don't know if it works or not.  I don't have gnucash installed.  However, one potential work arround is to 
use Control-a Controll-c to copy the text.  When text gets moved to the clipboard it will be read aloud...

Já nevím jestli zvládnu to vysvětlit v češtině.  Ale bych chtěl zkusit, protože musím procvičit.  Já nemám gnucash, tak že nemůžu s tím hrát.  Ale často, když orca nečte nějaký 
text můžeš "vybrat vše" s Ctrl-a a pak "kopírovat" s Ctrl-c.   Když se to kopíruje do schránky orca to čte nahlas...

Doufám, že to nějak pomůže,
