I'm using an Orca from git from about a week or so ago. I use the
orca-git package that is now up in AUR so it pulls from strait master
in git; this is the gnome3 version. I think at one time, it was
necessary to apply a newer version of at-spi2 but I'm pretty certain
I'm using whatever is in the Arch public repositories just now. If
needs be, I can verify this a little later on.
I was about to update Orca from git this evening but ran into some
problems with a recent update to perl so automake isn't working on my
system right now. Need to fix that first.

Hi,
OK, so there is no need to update at-spi really then?
What version of Orca are you using yourself now?

atspi2 is current in the arch packages from the normal repos I do
believe. With orca-git from AUR, you should just do a makepkg and
after that is built, then pacman -U orca-git-20110629... It should
work from there. Firefox 5 from normal repo is working for me right
now.

Hi all,
Well, maybe I am doing something wrong here, so any help is really
apreciated.
I decided to upgrade to the latest Orca git, in this case v3.13 and for
the convenience I used the package from AUR and it went fine and it asked
me if I wanted to remove the old Orca so I answered yes.
After that I tried using Firefox5 but that wasn't accessible, at least
that's what Orca told me, so I thought I should also upgrade at-spi to the
latest git so I then downloaded it manually from Gnome's git server and
installed missing dependencies. I then typed:
./autogen.sh --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --libexecdir=/usr/lib/at-spi
make
make install
But now, Orca doesn't work. I get no speech or braille output after I
hit Alt-F2 and typed Orca. What's wrong?
Many thanks for any help,
Christian
