Hi,

Anyway, I have a duel-boot system with XP and Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid LTS.
Anyway, I need to reinstall XP after backing up my critical files, and
Windows will no doubt wipe out the MBR along with Grub2, so I am wondering
how to access it .
I think I will need to reinstall Grub from a live CD or my thumb drive with
Ubuntu 10.10.
Seems like I had trouble with this before, and I am wondering about
permissions for writing to /dev/sda and any other problems that may occur,
and if it would help to do some things first, like downloading a copy of
Grub first, and run that install package.
Thanks for any help.
Glenn

Hemm, you need to sudo to reinstall grub. I don't see any potential
problems.
