Re: [orca-list] Fedoria 16 live cd

Hello, Andy.

I have not gone through the whole installer in fedora, but the first screens I tested last night on the live CD seemed to work well with Orca.

Here is what you would do:

1. Hit ALT+F2 to open the Run prompt.
2. Type in orca (no capital letters) and hit ENTER to start the Orca setup.
3. Go through the setup process, and then log out.

NOTE: the terminal disappeared before I was able to enter 'y' to log out. I hit CTRL+ALT+Tab to get to the top panel, then right-arrowed all th way to the right end of the panel where the user menu is. Unfortunately, Orca did not read the names of the options (such as Suspend, Log Out, etc, with the exception of Notifications). The Log Out option is the second to last option in this menu.

4. Login with the username of 'liveuser' and no password.
5. Start Orca as you did in step one.
6. Hit the Super (Windows) key to open the GNOME Shell Activities Overview.

NOTE: When you first open the Activities Overview, you can begin typing the name of the application you are looking for right away.

7. Type in 'ins'; you should find an application launcher which says something to the effect of "Install to hard drive'.
8. Hit ENTER to start the installer.

As I mentioned before, I did not go through the whole installer, so I do not know if it is completely accessible. I am going to install it alongside Windows XP on my laptop, though, as Fedora 16 worked wonderfully with my laptop.

I hope that this helps. I hope Fedora 16 works as well for you as it did for me.

Is it possible to install fedoria 16 through the live cd image? If so, what are the steps to do so? Is it pretty much like Ubuntu is?
