I just used Thunderbird 3.1.5 (Lanikai) for a little while and I can't
get over how much faster things are when using Mutt instead. I like
some things in Thunderbird but...
I observe a lot of sluggishness especially in the list views. I also
have been noticing a problem with focusing many messages; not all
unfortunately, but some. This is where I open the message from the
list as a separate window and then can't arrow arround in the body. I
have to switch focus to another window and come back to gain proper
focus. I will try and see if I can obtain some further a11y
information to see if that will help.
Also this time around, I noticed that pressing the end key to get to
the bottom of a message list didn't always get me to the real bottom;
it's like it stopped short or something. I don't know if Thunderbird
was still polling my other folders or what but I don't recall
experiencing that before.

Hy,
In Thunderbird 3.1.5 version under Maverick I see some interesting problems:
Possible Mozilla Developers change the used GTK control with message
list part. Now, if I see right, the GTK List control is used,
prewious versions I think using GTK treeview or tree table control,
I am not sure right control name. When I moving email messages with
a folder, the speak child position feature spokening invalid
position index.
For example, my Espeak filter folder have 267 messages, but the
position index is not true spokened.
Anybody see this problem under Thunderbird 3.1.5 and Orca?
Another three interesting problems with related Thunderbird 3.1.5,
this is I think biggest problems:
With my inbox have 1499 messages. When I select inbox folder name
and press Tab key, Orca spokening the first focused message
information about 22 second later. When I try move up or down arrow
with this big inbox message list, I hear next message with 4-6
second later.
When I changing task and switch back Thunderbird, Orca spokening the
application title, but I hear the focused message after 11-14 second
later.
I newer see this type problem with Thunderbird 3.0.9. Perhaps this
problems happened because Mozilla developers changed the message
list control? Have an useful workaround to fix this issues?
I tryed Thunderbird 3.1.5 version under Maverick (this is the
default awailable version), and I using Orca git master version.
If need, I opening a bugreport with this issue and attaching Orca
debug output if possible do orca level fixes to fastest the list
operations.
