Re: [orca-list] Mud client

Hi,
Gnome Mud does work but is very limited in what it can do. If you like lots of power in your mud client then give tintin++ a shot. It runs in the terminal. Launch it by typing tt++. If you are using Ubuntu you can install with:
sudo apt-get install tintin++
It supports triggers,aliases, macros, speed walking, scripting, automapping, and probably more stuff I have forgotten about.
In both it and Gnome Mud when using Orca, sometimes the first letter of the first word on a line is chopped off. This has been a bug for a while. So, for example, "A Small Alley" would be read as "Small Alley". It takes a little getting used to but it is certainly still usable. Speakup doesn't have this problem, so if it gets too bad just use tintin++ in the console with speakup.

A quick search shows that there's a gnome-mud package in Debian; you could try
that and report bugs if it doesn't work.

There's always telnet, of course, which is guaranteed to be completely
accessible.
