Hi,
To get voxin working in 64-bit, I had to compile it with speech-dispatcher on a 32-bit virtual machine, and then copy sd_ibmtts to my 64-bit mahine, along with a couple .so files it needs. The system mostly works, but it refuses to talk until I log in using GDM, even though I have a system-wide version of speech-dispatcher running.
can you play audio in a terminal before logging into gdm? I would expect that this is some sort of audio output issue. As a check of this theory can you connect to the system speechd and try sending commands? Trev
