Yes, in fact, I installed noscript the other day and it's pretty
cool. I'm hoping that it isn't the cause of any of these problems. I
don't think so because I had some stalling issues before installing it
too. I may have to try and run the Orca debug at full output during
this to see if I can dig anything out of the heavy noise in that
file. It's probably those dreaded dead accessibles again <sigh>.

suggestion because of what it does. It autoblocks scripts from add
sites such as doubleclick, addbright, etc. Though you do have to
tell it what site scripts you want to allow to run. I use it here
on my XP laptop with Jaws. I'll be rebuilding my workstation after
December with Arch Linux and Voxin. I'll try out Firefox then on it
with Noscript since all I have to do is import my profile and its
settings.
