Re: [orca-list] Prolems noticed while accessing Gcalctool with Orca.

Thanks to Joanie's suggestion to try out the latest versions, I
installed GNOME 2.28 (Ubuntu 9.10), and was happy to see many
improvements. However, following two of problems reported by me
earlier are seen even with GNOME 2.28 -

1. Change in numeric base not correctly announced:
Start calculator. Press Ctrl+P to enter programming mode. Key-strokes
Alt+b, Alt+o, Alt+d and Alt+x change the numeric base to binary,
octal, decimal and hexadecimal respectively. Pressing Alt+b selects
the radio button Bin (for binary), but Orca announcement is
unpredictable. It either says “Bin selected radio button” or “Bin not
selected radio button”. The WhereAmI key-stroke (KP_Enter) generates
the correct response viz. “Bin radio button, selected.” Key-strokes
Alt+o, Alt+d and Alt+x have the same probllem.

2. Change in display type is not correctly announced:
Start calculator. Press Ctrl+S to enter scientific mode. Key-strokes
Alt+n, Alt+f and Alt+s change the display type to engineering, fixed
and scientific, respectively. Pressing Alt+n selects the radio button
Eng (for engineering), but Orca announcement is unpredictable. It
either says “Eng selected radio button” or “Eng not selected radio
button”. The WhereAmI key-stroke (KP_Enter) generates the correct
response viz. “Eng radio button, selected.” Key-strokes Alt+f and
Alt+s have the same problem.

Unless somebody confirms that these problems have been fixed in GNOME
2.29/30, I would post them to GNOME Bugzilla.

Thanks!
