[orca-list] a lucid problem

I seem to have been recently having problems in Ubuntu Lucid.
If I take a break from my PC with it being on of course sometimes Ubuntu
Lucid freezes and although Orca is still speaking I can't launch
applications.
I know that now after a few minutes you have to type the admin password
because it automatically locks which I do but this problem I am having
even acts like my PC loggs out sometimes and I have to re-enter my
username and password before it unfreezes and that will only work one
time when I do this and this seems to be part of the system freezing
problem where I try to go into an application and it won't run.
For example I might be in Transmission, leave the PC for a few minutes,
come back to it and it acts like it goes into a mode where it doesn't
responde so I might try launching Evolution for example and I will go
into the office menu, hit enter on Evolution and no response from
launching the program.
I then have to use the power button because nothing seems to want to
launch for some strange reason even if I have Orca running and it is
speaking to me.
I then have to force a shutdown with the power button on my PC.
I thought it might have had something to do with me at one point
installing the Ubuntu-main-restricted pluggins but I have removed them
and still the same freezing problem.
Does this sound like a fresh install is the only way to fix this
problem?
