Hi Michael,
I would suggest that you contac Markus, the author of emerson, providing
him with a copy of the daisy book in question and your explanation below.
As you might know, the problem might either lie in the book or in Emerson.
If you have trouble finding Markus's email address, drop me a line and I
will look for it.
