Some of the Indian languages have their own character sets. This could
be used to switch between Tamil, Hindi, and English, depending on the
range of character codes in the text. Similarly for Greek.
It may be useful to switch automatically between a local language which
uses non-latin characters (eg. Russian, Bulgarian) and a specified
latin-character language, such as English.
This is much easier and more reliable than trying to recognize
different latin-character European languages.
