On a related note: if anyone has a checklist of the modifications we 
must make to Thunderbird to optimize sightless use, please let me know.

Under View I have:
Message body as: text.
I have tried original html and text, but neither seem to be giving me 
access to the messages beyond the first few lines.

Actually, recently even the first few lines seem to be inacessible.
