I've not really given gnome-terminal much thought.  I think the GNOME VTE library accessibility support 
(http://library.gnome.org/devel/vte/unstable/VteTerminalAccessible.html) might need some tender loving care 
to make it a better a11y citizen before more effective Orca scripting can be done for it.
