Re: [orca-list] Orca doesn't seem to be able to read the thunderbird message composing area when tabbing from subject

This is an open bug in Mozilla which will hopefully get addressed before
too long. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=503428

Take care.

Hello,
I've noticed this for some time, when I first tab from the subject field
to the message area in thunderbird when composing a message orca doesn't
read the content of the message area until I make the new message window
loose focus and give it focus again. Also should I move back to the
subject and tab back to the message area while composing the same
problem shows itself.

Steps to reproduce:
1. In thunderbird go to file menu, new menu and select message.
2. Fill in to and subject as you wish, and then press tab after filling
in subject.
3. Start to type and cursor through what you type.
Expected: Orca will echo what you type as set by the echo settings (in
my case words) and speak what you cursor to.
Actual: Orca is silent and nothing appears in Braille.

This always seems to happen.

Work around: Press ctrl+alt+d to go to the desktop and press it again
(or use alt+tab) to give the new message window focus again, orca works
as expected while you stay in the message area.

Has anyone else notice this? If there is no existing bug report for this
I will report it, I just wanted to check that it wasn't something odd to
my system.
