Hello. My name is Jimmy Podsim and I run the blind access help list on
yahoogroups.com. Unlike many groups where the focus is on one particular
product, our list covers all products. I have extended this same invite
to others, and only G. W. Micro has taken me up on it.
What we would like is to have a representative of your company who could
do either one of two things. The main thing would be to be a silent
member of our group who would post products updates as well as events
that your company may be doing. I believe that an informed blind
community is a productive community and with the pricing and such of
your products, I believe that our list might also help you in getting
more of your products out. With the rep from G. W. Micro, they set up a
special email address and the rep goes through the emails from time to
time and answers questions pertaining to their products. Sometimes he is
there to help and others he’s to busy, but I know that because of his
participation on the list they have already sold more copies of their
screen reader because of the help from him and the list.
If nothing else, if you could set up an email address to subscribe with
that nobody checks and at least send us product updates and such, it
would be a great thing. When I was young all I knew was JAWS and that’s
all blind people have. I want people to know that there are other
options and that they don’t all cost an arm and a leg. We do have people
on our list that are using your products. And when I go to service some
bodies computer, the SA to go is wonderful because I don’t have to
install JAWS and mess with all their system settings. Let me know what
you think, and we can go from there.
