Hi
ubuntu 8.10 and above are the same. The orca devs can answer this
better than I, but it's probably a change in the way orca is started
through its script.
There's an easy way to kill orca though, just do:
orca -q
on the command line and that will kill the Orca python process. No
need to killall python.

Hi,
unlike Ubuntu, Orca is not started as a process of its own on my
system
(GRML 2008-11).
When i have to do a:
killall orca
I get the message that there's no such process.
I have to do:
killall python
instead.
Disadvantage: This kills all python applications.
So what's different on my system and why?

The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a
thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot
possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to
get at or repair.
