Re: [orca-list] orca-customizations.py with auto upgrades

Most definitely make the options configurable or at least allow users
to pick the scope of the upgrade. Personally, I would rather be
notified of the availability and I would then apply the update. It
could download it but hold it aside for me to apply when ready. Also,
I've seen latency with different programs and scripts doing a check
for updates at startup in Windows quite often so I would probably turn
it off and just activate it with a single hotkey manually. Now if a
hotkey method were used, then upon detecting a new available update,
it could prompt with a simple yes/no dialog to update the file.

I definitely wouldn't want any other customizations to be overlaid by
these updates though.

I am currently working on improvements to the customizations file. One
of these improvements is an orca-customizations.py upgrade feature, and
I got to wondering. Should the script simply let you know about the
upgrade, tell you about the upgrade and open the page in the browser, or
download the file and save it over the old version. If it auto
downloads, I can't think of a way to preserve custom keybindings. So,
which method would everyone prefer? Also, suggestions welcome.
