All right, so I attempted to follow the steps outlined for thunderbird.
I got i downloaded, extracted it to my home/username directory, and
created a link, or whatever it's called. I also created an icon. I also
got it to send attachments, although it's buggy. When I am browsing for
a file, what do I have to do? I am pressing shift+tab till I get to
places. I find the place, I press tab for a list of folders, and I press
enter on a folder. At this point, orca stops speaking. I shift tab and
tab back and orca says thunderbird.bin. If I tab around the full cycle
again, I finally get the list of files. Also, for some reason, my main
menu is not working, therefore I am unable to add thunderbird to the
applications menu. I press enter on preferences and main menu, and orca
says main menu. Then, though, it goes to the desktop. I tried to launch
it through the run apps dialog with the same results. How do I fix this?
Also, is there any way to stop thunderbird from saying attachment header
or read header every time I delete an email? I can reproduce this every
time when I am in a list of messages. I press delete on one, and orca
says attachments header or read header. However, when I simply arrow
through the message, Orca only announces attachment if the message
contains an attachment. Short of turning off table announcement, can I
turn this off?
Thanks
Nimer J
