Hi,

I hate network manager, and went in search of smoething myself.  I found 
Wicd.  it may not have all the nifty  things network manager does, which is 
fine for me.  I just want to be able to enable/connect to wlan networks. 
Works great.

I don't remember the url off-hand, however, google wicd network manager and 
it'll come up.
