[orca-list] diagnostic logs

Hi all, is there anywhere within orca that I can tell exactly what 
caused a crash?  I'm still puzzled by the problem I'm experiencing on my 
desktop computer with Pidgin 2.5.4.  I have two further questions that 
I've been tossing around, while trying to solve this problem.  First, 
since gail is now merged into atk, is it necessary to compile it as part 
of the atk, at-spi, orca upgrade process?  By doing so, did I possibly 
mess something up?  Secondly, am I better off just reformatting my / 
partition and starting over?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
